Just as the indoor track season finishes up, the outdoor season begins. The BSU women's track team, under coach Sue Parks, is traveling to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to take part in the Alabama Relays just a few days after the NCAA championships for the indoor season took place.
In the last week, Ball State was represented at the Alex Wilson Invitational at Notre Dame in what was deemed as a "last-chance meet." This means it is the last chance to qualify for the NCAA championships. Sophomore Amanda Barnhart was the only Cardinal to attend the meet, as she finished sixth in the long jump, which was not enough to qualify for the biggest meet of the indoor season.
In other off-the-track news, two members of the Ball State squad were named to the Academic All-MAC team. Sophomore Rose Lehe and junior Jill Scully both received this honor. It was the first time Lehe had been named to the Academic team and the second time for Scully.
The Alabama Relays are followed by the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif., next week. These two meets end an 11-week run that saw the Cardinals take part in 10 meets.
