WOMEN'S SWIMMING Cardinals dominate final home meet

In it's final home meet of the season, Ball State's women's swimming team took the win over Mid-American Conference foe Bowling Green 186-113.

Individual victories for the Cardinals came for Sarah Welter in the 100 Backstroke, Tara Zimmer in the 100 and 200 Breaststroke, Karla Bailey in the 50 Freestyle, Brittany Sayler in the 200 Backstroke, Erin Johnson in the 100 Butterfly, Cassandra Pavolvich in the 3-Meter diving and Addison Del Rio in 200 Individual Medley.

Welter, Zimmer, Johnson and Bailey teamed up to win the 400 Medley Relay, while Welter, Ellie McCammon, Sayler and Bailey took the top spot in the 400 Freestyle Relay.

Overall, the Cardinals took 20 of a possible 32 first- and second-place finishes. In fact, only the 500 Freestyle saw no Cardinals in either first or second place.

Ball State seniors Michelle Arakgi, Bailey, Sarah King, Nora Lucas, McCammon, Cassandra Pavlovich, Welter and Zimmer were recognized at the meet, their final home meet as Cardinals.

The team returns to action next Friday when it travels to Huntington, W. Va. to take on Marshall.
