Tomorrow night, Worthen Arena will be swinging to the sounds of "Sweet Georgia Brown" as the Harlem Globetrotters take on the New York Nationals at 7 p.m.
Tickets cost $60, $28, $21, $18 and $13, but Dan Byrnes, Director of Sports Facilities at Ball State, said there's no student discount. Several thousand fans are expected to attend, although plenty of tickets are still available.
Immediately following the game, the Globetrotters will be signing autographs for about 30 minutes on the court.
"It's a great family show," Byrnes said. "They come every two to three years. People enjoy the entertainment value in what they do."
The game is the first of four in Indiana for the Globetrotters, where they'll also play in Indianapolis, Fort Wayne and South Bend in the next week as part of this year's "World of Fun" tour.
"They have a very positive message and they have a lot of fun. It's a great night to bring the family and have some fun," Byrnes said.
In 79 years, the Globetrotters have played over 20,000 games, the most of any team at the professional level. They've competed in 200 cities across the United States and Canada and in 117 countries for 121 million spectators worldwide.
With more than 20,900 wins, the Globetrotters have the best winning percentage in the history of professional sports.
