LETTER: Cops watching every move; risks of getting DUI lower than getting cited for public intoxication

To all students:

Prepare yourself for the future of passing out at random parties and drinking in the dorms, as it is being made known on campus that cops will be waiting at your doorstep to breathalyze you. And it's no big deal that this is your home where you are paying several thousands of dollars to live each year. Your risk of getting a DUI is now lower than walking around campus, as you will find cops watching your every move. So round up your keys and pile your friends in the car, just don't think about walking or heading home for that matter. Because driving while under the influence isn't near as dangerous as public intoxication. It is easier to walk into a tree and die than dying while driving. Greek people, watch out for other fraternities being disturbed by your drinking and the level of noise coming from your direction. Although you've partied all semester, this distinct weekend you were rather loud. They may turn you in (again) and cause another 87 people to get cited. Cops, what do you consider drinking irresponsibly? What suspicions do you have prior to walking up to a house and arresting people? Leave us alone. There is going to be underage drinking and 87 citations in one night is absurd. It is only ruining students futures and reputations. To the non-BSU students, who think it's cool to go to college parties and bring guns and steal and drink and do things that you aren't old enough to be doing, go to the park or something. Just stay away from our campus.
