TEMPORAL FRONT: Kerry cannot win election without lies

Since his win in Iowa, John Kerry has spent his time on the campaign trail attacking President Bush for his links to special interests. At the end of his stump speeches he finds the chutzpa to say, "I've got news for the HMOs and the big drug companies and the big oil companies and influence peddlers. We're coming and you're going, and don't let the door hit you on the way out!"

However, as more members of the press and political rivals begin researching Kerry's real record, the truth becomes increasingly clear.

As the San Diego Union-tribune reported last week, "the Massachusetts lawmaker and Democratic presidential front-runner is among Congress' top recipients of money from some of those special interests -- drug companies, HMOs, lawyers, investment firms, real estate interests and contractors, among others."

Wednesday, the Associated Press reported that while some senators in congress were trying to block one of the nation's leading insurers from siphoning funding away from one of the nation's most expensive construction projects, John Kerry was doing everything to prevent the bill from passing. No one could quite understand why until it was revealed that the insurance company "paid Kerry's way on a trip to Vermont and donated at least $30,000 to a tax-exempt group Kerry used to set up his presidential campaign. Company executives donated $18,000 to his Senate and presidential campaigns."

On Thursday, the AP reported that, "At least three times in his Senate career, Democratic presidential hopeful John Kerry has recommended individuals for positions at federal home loan banks just before or after receiving political contributions from the nominees, records show. In one case, Kerry wrote to the Federal Housing Finance Board to urge the reappointment of a candidate just one day before a Kerry campaign committee received $1,000 from the nominee, the records show."

I know that the President has taken money from special interests. I know that he has received money from Halliburton and Enron. However, the president has never said that he is waging a campaign against special interests.

If John Kerry wants to win the presidential campaign, he should be honest. He thought Saddam had WMD capabilities, he has accepted massive amounts of money from special interests, and he has accelerated his presidential campaign by ripping of Howard Dean's theme and using Botox to create a more youthful look.

Kerry supported the resolution authorizing the use of force in Iraq, but now he says he didn't support it.

Kerry opposed the "Defense of Marriage Act" signed into law under President Clinton, but now says he is against gay marriage.

Kerry claims he is a populist, but his wife is Theresa Heinz, the heiress of the Heinz condiment fortune. He lives in a multi-million dollar estate and drives expensive sport utility vehicles.

Kerry touts his military experience and his status as a Vietnam veteran, yet he has never made any attempt to serve on the veteran's affairs committee.

If he would just tell the truth about where he really stands, he'd probably lose, so maybe lying is better for him in the long run. Yay Kerry, the presidential candidate whose only hope of winning is to lie about and hide his record from 19 years in the Senate.
