OUR VIEW Don't try, he knows best

AT ISSUE: Let's just throw out that whole 'freedom' thing

The institution of marriage must be saved.

Great, Wonderful and Almighty President Bush has made it a priority. On Tuesday, Bush announced his support for a constitutional amendment that will ban gay marriage.

The Almighty's intentions are correct, but it's possible he missed the target.

If he really wanted to defend marriage, he would go further.

The only way to save marriage is to restrict the rights of the people, but if he really wanted to protect marriage, he would go further.

To protect marriage, the United States must pass a constitutional amendment to ban divorce.

The U.S. Department of Commerce reported in 2002 that half of first marriages can be expected to end in divorce. This is unacceptable.

"The union of a man and a woman is the most enduring human institution," Bush said.

That's correct. Unfortunately, activist judges approve thousands of divorces every year. They allow citizens to spit on the sanctity of marriage by breaking the vows they made before God.

Now, there will certainly be many who are opposed to this approach. However, according to that same report, 54 percent of men and 60 percent of women age 15 and over had married only once. This means these liberals who think they can simply turn their back on God are in the minority. Their thoughts, feelings, concerns or any other factors that might lead a couple to decide to split because people simply change while they grow older and could, possibly grow apart don't matter. They must remain in their destructive lifestyles.

This country was founded on Christian values. To act in spite of Christian values is simply un-American. It even borders on terrorism.

The amendment Bush has proposed is a serious, serious, serious, serious matter. Anyone who tries to undermine or make a joke of it should be detained indefinitely. The very idea of trying to live a life simply to be happy is a horrible trend that has formed in the United States, and our Noble President is trying to stop it.

Everyone rally together to support the president's cause. Stop gay marriage. Stop divorce. Everyone worship at the altar of the Methodist Church of the United States, but check your civil rights at the door because there's no place for them here.

Most importantly, bow to George, the greatest king this country has ever seen.
