Ace and Robin from MTV's popular reality television show "The Real World" will be on campus Saturday.
Ace from "The Real World-Paris" and Robin from "The Real World-San Diego" will
be speaking at Pruis Hall about reality television shows. Ball State's University Program Board is sponsoring the Late Nite event.
"Reality TV is such a big hit right now," Sara Shelton, Late Night co-director, said. "We thought it would be a big hit with campus."
"The Real World" has been airing on MTV for the past 12 years. According to MTV's Web site, the show is a "true story of seven strangers, picked to live in a house to find out what happens when people stop being polite and start getting real."
The purpose of the show is putting people of different personalities and cultures together and see how they get along.
"I haven't really gotten into the new season, but I watched the Paris season
religiously," junior Kelli Reinking said. "I plan on going to see them speak, because I've always been interested in what really happens behind the scenes."
Ace and Robin's agents will also be here to do a casting for upcoming reality shows.
"The auditions aren't for any particular show," Shelton said. "They are for any reality show that may be in production in the near future.
The auditions will be taped, and once Ace and Robin's agents look through them, they will send the tapes out for other casting offices to look at.
The casting call began Thursday and will be held today between noon and 2 p.m. in front of the Ball State Bookstore in the Atrium. The auditions will continue throughout Late Nite, on Saturday.
Ball State's improvisational comedy troupe Absolunacy will perform original sketches and songs from 9 to 9:30 p.m.
Ace and Robin will speak about their experiences with the Real World from 9:30 p.m. until approximately 11 p.m. There will be a question and answer session afterwards and an autograph signing.
