The Ball State community can celebrate Mardi Gras in the Atrium today from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Ball State chefs will prepare traditional Mardi Gras food, including Cajun Seafood Gumbo, Chicken and Ham Jambalaya, Catfish Po-Boy Sandwich, Southern Style Slaw, Sweet Potato Pie and Kings Cake. The meal will cost $6.25, and student meal cards can be used.
A jazz band and tarot card reader will provide entertainment along with Charlie Cardinal and the Chick-Fil-A cow.
Student body and faculty/staff Mardi Gras kings and queens will be crowned at the event, and prizes will be awarded for decorative masks that students are encouraged to make.
Penny voting tables have been set up for the past week outside the Ball State Bookstore for students to vote for the kings and queens.
Money collected from the penny voting will go to the American Cancer Society.
