SWIMMING IN BROKEN GLASS: Liberal elaborates yearning for Ann Coulter doll

I have discovered a new must-have item to add to my Christmaslist. From the makers of the George W. Bush action figure now comesthe talking Ann Coulter doll, available for only $29.99 fromwww.talkingpresidents.com.

Coulter is the conservative pundit and author of recentbestsellers "Slander: Liberal Lies About the Right" and "Treason:Liberal Treachery from the Cold War to the War on Terrorism." Ihaven't read "Treason" yet, but I'm enjoying "Slander" (Even thoughshe's been heavily challenged for her extensive factual errors, some say manipulations and outright lies.).

A sampling of some of her more notable quotes:

-- "Even fanatical Muslim terrorists don't hate America likeliberals do." -- Conservative Political Action Conference, 2002

-- "We know who the homicidal maniacs are. They are the onescheering and dancing right now. We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity." -- her column"This is War" on Sept. 13, 2001.

-- "In contemplating college liberals, you really regret, onceagain, that John Walker is not getting the death penalty. We needto execute people like John Walker in order to physicallyintimidate liberals by making them realize that they could bekilled too. Otherwise they will turn out into outright traitors."-- CPAC conference, 2002

-- "The swing voters -- I like to refer to them as the idiotvoters because they don't have set philosophical principles. By 14,you're either a liberal or you're a conservative if you have an IQabove a toaster." -- "Beyond the News," Fox News, June of 2000.

-- "My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to theNew York Times Building." -- New York Observer, Aug. 20, 2002.

I assure you, my desire for this product is entirely wholesome.I won't call my telecommunications friends, order a Bill Clintondoll and film some hilariously ironic short.

So why am I, of all people, interested in Coulter? I'm the onealways saying we need to break out of our "set philosophicalprinciples." It's simple: Opposites attract. I'm officially inlove.

I know she's 20 years older. So what? "Harold and Maude" is oneof my favorite movies.

I've always fallen for the passionate, fiery, fiercelyintelligent women. Often they take advantage of me and leave in anemotional storm over some lie they choose to believe (and we knowfrom accusations and critiques of Coulter's books that she dealswith lies constantly). I'm just a masochist, and I've found inCoulter the ultimate sadist who lives to attack like a tiger. She'sthe ying to my yang.

See, instead of getting mad and irritated at extreme "pundits,"we should love and enjoy them. Give them the opposite of what theywant. When an individual is cruel and vicious, their opinions, nomatter their potential merit, lose all relevance, and then theybecome merely entertainers.

It's an understatement to say that Coulter fosters someaggression toward liberals. Maybe she should try taking it out onthem physically. Consider what Coulter revealed in the HartfordCourant on June 25, 1999, when considering running against Rep.Christopher Shays (D-Conn.): "I really want to hurt him. I want himto feel pain."

That's where I could come in: a willing college liberal allready for her abuse. How 'bout it, Mistress Coulter?
