Now that fall has officially arrived, it's time to put away the bright, fluorescent makeup of the summer and settle into some deeper, richer shades more suitable for the cooler autumn days.
This season is all about deep browns and wine-colored eye shadows.
Revlon recently revealed its new line for the fall, the Shaggy Chic Collection, which includes the Expert Eyes Duo set. This set comes in colors such as "Cable Knit" and "Knitted Neutrals" and are priced between $6 and $7.
For warmer tones, pick a deeper color such as Revlon's Brush Blush in "Mocha" or "Velvet" for $7. For the darker complexion, Revlon offers Black Radiance Cream Blush Stick for $3.99.
According to Revlon's Web site,< B> < B>the cream blushes are designed for easy application that glides over the skin. They come in colors such as "Brilliant Mauve" and "Sequin Spice" that complement the darker skin tones.
Lip-glosses are still the overall winner for the one makeup product you should not leave home without.
"I'm all about lip-gloss," freshman Lindsey Downing said.
Downing, an Avon representative, sells the new beauty line Meet Mark that is specifically designed for young women ages 16 to 25.
Lip-glosses have been one of the most popular products. The glosses come in cool fall colors like "Pink Crush," "Player" and "Hot."
The glosses cost about $5.
Bonne Bell Lip Smackers come in various flavor and give lips life without the glossy look. These lip balms run about $1.49. They give a hint of color to accentuate the lips without looking too overdone.
Another popular cosmetic is mascara because it can be used at any time and adds dimension to the face without overwhelming.
"I won't go anywhere without my mascara," freshman Brandy Smalley said.

A vital beauty item that most people forget about is facial cleanser.
"Your makeup won't look good if your skin's not healthy," Clinique beauty consultant Rhonda Cupp said.
Clinique's three-step skin-care system is a possible remedy for dry, chapped winter skin. This system includes facial soap to cleanse skin, clarifying lotion to exfoliate the skin and moisturizing lotion to restore the moisture to the skin. These products range in price from $10 to $15, depending on the strength.
Some products can be used for more than one purpose to save money. Meet Mark Tint Tint Lip and Cheek gel, available for $6, can be used as a blush as well as lip-gloss.
While makeup counters in the mall offer a wide selection of name brand products, similar items can be found at more affordable prices. Stores such as Wal-Mart and Target offer makeup at reasonable prices that won't break the bank.
