Smith making noise in NBA summer league

Former Ball State basketball player Theron Smith is playing well in the NBA's Los Angeles Summer Pro-Am League. As a member of the Memphis Grizzlies' summer team, Smith is averaging 20.0 points per game and 6.0 rebounds in two games.

Monday, Smith scored 18 points and grabbed six rebounds as the Grizzlies defeated the Canadian national team 102-81. The following night he led the team with 22 points and another six rebounds, but the Grizzlies lost to the Los Angeles Clippers 102-86.

Smith entered this year's NBA Draft, but was not drafted by a team. He is playing with the Grizzlies as a free agent
