Disturbance

MUNCIE POLICE OFFICER OWEN LACHAT examines a .357 Magnum revolver after a domestic dispute that concluded with a shot fired on the corner of Howard and Proud by a female minor Wednesday night. According to a neighbor who called the police, Derell Hull allegedly assaulted and battered the minor on the front porch. The neighbor, who wished to remain anonymous, said others fled the scene. The minor then ran to a car, pulled the gun and fired a shot, Muncie police officer Amy Fisher said. It is unknown if the shot was directed at Hull who allegedly abused her. Hull took off running after the shot, Officer Michael Engle said. "Everything is speculation right now," Engle said. Both the minor and Hull are Muncie residents and were taken into custody. "This is the third time this month shootings like this have happened in the neighborhood," neighbor Donna Hall said.
