Annual Cardinal-White scrimmage is Saturday

The annual Cardinal-White spring football scrimmage is Saturday at 1 p.m. at Ball State Stadium. The game concludes spring practice for the Cardinals and first-year head coach Brady Hoke. Admission is free.

Instead of actual game conditions, the Cardinal-White contest will be a scrimmage between the offense and defense.

Among the position battles going on spring practice have been at tailback and quarterback. Those looking to replace all-time rushing leader Marcus Merriweather include junior Scott Blair, sophomore Charles Wynn and redshirt freshman Brad Seiss. At quarterback, Andy Roesch returns after throwing for 1,341 yards and 15 touchdowns. He is facing competition from the player he replaced five games through last season, fellow fifth-year senior Talmadge Hill, and redshirt freshman Joey Lynch and Todd Racine.
