Letter to the editor: Political columns feature rampant grammar mistakes

Dear Editor,

What is it about political columnists and their inability to communicate with correct grammar? Monday's edition of The Temporal Front states, "The problem is that none of them IS from Indiana." On April 9 of this year the Democratic Dish read, "Members of the Ball State community IS intelligent enough to make their own decisions." While members of the Ball State community are intelligent enough to make their own decisions, perhaps those wishing to editorialize in a college paper should make an effort to appear somewhat intelligent by utilizing seventh grade grammar rules. After all, ain't we never been teached right in English class?
