Indiana adopts Amber Alert System
Law enforcement and broadcasters across Indiana said they are now ready to
enact the Amber Alert system.
It's a partnership between law-enforcement agencies and broadcasters to
activate an urgent bulletin in child abductions.
Broadcasters use the Emergency Alert System to deliver the information to
the community just as they do in severe weather emergencies.
Indiana will join 24 other states in adopting the Amber plan , named after
Amber Hagerman, a nine-year old Texas girl who was kidnapped and killed in
1996.
