Ball State athletic department makes changes in administration

The Ball State athletic department has made some changes and done a little re-arranging for what first year athletics director Bubba Cunningham said was a move to "better serve our student-athletes, coaches and staff," according to a press release sent out Wednesday.

In his 29th year at Ball State, Dick Falls has been promoted from senior associate athletics director to deputy director of athletics.

Joe Hernandez, in his 17th year at Ball State, was also promoted. Hernandez is now the associate athletics director for external affairs. Hernandez will also oversee Ball State cheerleaders, and the Code Red Dance Team.

Other switches in titles came with Pat Quinn being named to supervise baseball, men's and women's cross country and track, women's soccer, gymnastics and softball.

Finally, Nona Richardson will begin Nov. 4 as Ball State's associate athletics director and senior woman administrator.

"The object is to enhance the positive areas of the athletics department and improve on a variety of areas," Cunningham said in a press release Wednesday. "We believe that this re-organization is the best fit for the athletics department and we are ready to continue the outstanding athletic and academic success of the Ball State athletics programs."222."+â-¦**+â-äAthetics brief 10.17DNEditorial222SORTB+â-ä2AUDT
