Former point guard hired as basketball head coach

A former Ball State point guard took a head coaching position at Wes-Del high school.

Mickey Hosier played all four years and started at the point guard position for his last two years as a Cardinal. The Harrison-Washington School Board approved Hosier last week as the new head coach.

Wes-Del athletics director Phil Ford received 15-20 inquiries for the position.

Hosier has worked under Alexandria head coach Garth Cone for the past year and filled the void Scott Hudson left at Wes-Del.

During Hosier's high school years, he was an Indiana All-Star in 1996 at Alexandria before coming to Ball State. Hosier served as a graduate assistant under Cardinal head coach Tim Buckley before coaching high school basketball.
