Four Ball State students compete for Miss Indiana title

The stars were aligned as Indiana's finest competed for the title of the 62nd annual Miss Indiana Scholarship Program pageant Saturday night at the Hulman Center at Indiana State University.

Not only did the first and second place winners attend the same school, but are also college roommates.

Tangra Riggle of Lafayette was crowned Miss Indiana Saturday night and her roommate of three years, Micah Howard of *** won first runner up.

Riggle and Howard captured the same preliminary awards the first two nights of the program in various events including one-on-one interviews with the judges and the talent competition.

"Atlantic City - here I come," Riggle said during a press conference after the pageant.

Riggle will represent the Hoosier state in the Miss America program Sept. 21 in Atlantic City, N.J.

She competed with 22 contestants at Hulman Center at Indiana State University for the title, among those 4 were Ball State students.

Sophomore Danielle Bauman 19 , of Auburn, Ind. is majoring in urban planning and development and Bridget Bobel 22 of Peru, graduated from Ball State last year with a degree in public relations.

Lori Brokaw 22 of West Unity, Ohio a Ball State University senior majoring in political science and pre-medicine (Miss Duneland); -á

Jennie Keller - 22, Twinsburg (OH), a Ball State University senior majoring in theater/acting (Miss Ball State University); -á

Keller didn't make it to the preliminary round but Bauman and Bobel did while Brokaw made it to the final five.

Brokaw won second runner up.
