SPEED, AGILITY KEY TO WINNING MOGULS

Moguls debuted in 1992 in the Albertville, France, Olympics. The event is divided into two sessions. The first round is an elimination round for all competitors. The top 16 men and women finishers run in the reverse of the order that they finished in the previous round. Scoring is done by allowing each competitor a possible 30 points, half of them coming from turns. The jump counts for a quarter of the total, and finally, each participant is judged on his or her speed as it ranks against a set pace for the final quarter of the score.
