Ball State Junior named MAC Player of the Week
Theron Smith, junior member of Ball State's men's basketball team, was named Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the week.
Smith was given the honor after being named the First Merchants Classic Most Valuable Player. Smith helped lead the Cardinals to a 106-65 win over Elon and a 81-60 win over Austin Peay.
Against Elon, Smith pulled down a career-high 17 rebounds and knocked in 20 points. Against Austin Peay, Smith had 11 rebounds and 17 points.
Smith being named Player of the Week marks the second consecutive week Ball State has had a player with the honor. Last week Petie Jackson received the award.
