According to the sports information department and assistant athletic director Joe Hernandez, a statement will be released later today confirming the extension of head football coach Bill Lynch.
Lynch's current contract carried him through the 2002 season, but according to what the Daily News has been told, one more year has been added to his contract. This will extend his contract through the year 2003.
The Cardinals ended this season with a 5-6 overall record and a share of the Mid-American Conference West title.
