Wednesday, the Star Press reported MCS put six properties on the market including the Ross Community Center, Storer Elementary School, Mitchell Elementary School, Sutton Elementary School, undeveloped land near the former Wilson Middle School and Northside Middle School.

Northside Middle School sits on the edge of Ball State's campus, but the university has not announced if they plan on acquiring any of the buildings — Northside included. However, university spokesperson Kathy Wolf said Ball State has expressed an interest in acquiring buildings close to campus.

MCS Superintendent Steve Baule and emergency manager Stephen Edwards sent notices to universities, including Ball State and Ivy Tech Community Community College.

While the university does not comment on potential real estate sales, Wolf said, the university is evaluating MCS'S properties.

"With regard to Muncie School properties, Ball State is weighing its options as to whether we will bid on any of these properties for the advancement of Ball State’s mission," Wolf said in an email.

Additionally, notices were sent to the City of Muncie, along with City of Muncie offices.
