Construction contractors plan to begin a 30-day closure of the northbound Interstate 69 Exit 241 ramp to State Road 332/McGalliard road at midnight, according to a news release.

The $1.7 million bridge construction project will modify concrete overlays to the bridge decks, seal bridge joints and repair various concrete bridge components in an effort to "protect and extend the life of each structure."

During the ramp closure, a signed detour will direct traffic north to the Exit 245 interchange to return southbound on I-69 and access Exit 241 to State Road 332/McGalliard Road.

According to the Indiana Department of Transportation, multiple phases will be required to maintain two lanes of intersection traffic in each direction during the construction.

Drivers can expect:

  • temporary traffic lane shifts through the project
  • median crossovers starting in August
  • 30-day closure of the entrance ramp southbound I-69 starting in September

Work is expected to be complete in November.
