"Creating a Vibrant City"

Greg Ballard, former mayor of Indianapolis, will speak at 4 p.m. Nov. 7 in the Architecture Building. 

Ballard, an Indianapolis native, will give his presentation "Creating a Vibrant City," discussing his roles and contributions to the Indianapolis atmosphere and design during his two terms as mayor from 2008 to 2016.

Ballard is currently a visiting fellow of the Institute for Civic Leadership and Mayoral Archives at the University of Indianapolis. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 23 years, is a Gulf War veteran and holds a degree in economics from Indiana University.

The lecture, sponsored by the Department of Urban Planning, is free and open to the public, and there will be a Q&A segment after Ballard's presentation.
