MEN'S GOLF: Clouser qualifies for U.S. Amateur Championship

A member of the Ball State men’s golf team qualified for the US Amateur Championship in Atlanta next month.

McCormick Clouser was one of seven Ball State golfers that qualified at Notre Dame’s Warren Golf Course on Monday.

He posted a 36-hole total of 1-under par 141 (70-71), which was good enough to tie for second place in the event. Clouser was one of three golfers that advanced from the site.

Clouser has finished third at the Indiana Amateur and the Indiana Open this summer, as well. He is coming off a season where he was named to the All Mid-American Conference Second Team.

The US Amateur will be Aug. 11 to Aug. 17 on the Highlands Course at Atlanta Athletic Club.
