Ball State women’s volleyball was swept by Syracuse in three sets in their final match of the Cy-Hawk Series Tournament. The Cardinals dropped the first set 25-16 and could not recover, going on to lose sets two and three by scores of 25-18 and 25-13 respectively.
Ball State's play shifted in between matches during its first day of the Cy-Hawk Series Tournament. After suffering their first loss of the season against Iowa State, the Cardinals secured a victory against Iowa Friday evening.
The lone goal came from junior forward Emma Marcus, who received a pass from freshman forward Chloe Netzel and put it in the back of the net in the 22nd minute for her first goal of the season. Despite 23 total shots, 14 by Xavier and nine by Ball State, Marcus’ goal was the only one that found its way behind the keeper.
It was Tuesday morning. Ball State Men’s Golf head coach Mike Fleck was driving to meet a friend who was doing embroidery work for his team. He was driving to a Hardee’s in Pendleton, Indiana, and he had Q95’s “The Bob & Tom Show” playing on his radio when, all of a sudden, the usual lighthearted show turned serious.

A total of five yellow cards were called, three on Ball State, two on Cincinnati, as the Bearcats won 2-1 over the Cardinals.
Soccer is not just a game for Ball State Soccer’s first-year assistant coach, Hannah Sullivan. It’s a way of life. Ever since she trotted onto the field at her local YMCA as a 3-year-old, Sullivan has made soccer a big part of her identity.
The NFL has made it clear they will not reschedule games in light of an organization's COVID outbreak. This could put several games, and quite frankly, the season, in jeopardy. If the trend continues, Indianapolis could be at a competitive disadvantage due to its players’ reluctance to get vaccinated.

However, even after making the MAC Championship in last spring’s pandemic-abbreviated season, the Cardinals return to the field four months later with the same expectations — a MAC West Division title and a chance at the conference championship.
