Ball State soccer signs 4 new players

After saying goodbye to six seniors, Ball State soccer began its recruiting season with the addition of four new players. Head coach Craig Roberts added two high school seniors as well as two Division I transfer student athletes. The Cardinals finished last season as the Mid-American Conference regular season champions after going undefeated at home and losing only one conference game. Allison Abbe is a junior transfer midfielder from the the University of Cincinnati.

Ball State soccer MAC tournament preview

Ball State soccer will go into the Mid-American Conference tournament ranked as the No. 1 seed. The Cardinals finished with a 14-3-2 overall record, finishing with a 10-1 conference record.

Ball State Stays Undefeated in MAC Play

Ball State soccer team is now 5-0 in Mid-American Conference play, which is the program’s best start ever.             The Cardinals (9-2-2, 5-0 MAC) beat Kent State 3-0, scoring all three goals in the last 20 minutes of the game.

Soccer remains undefeated in MAC play

The Ball State soccer team continues to dominate Mid-American Conference competition, moving to 5-0 for the first time in program history.  This is the teams sixth consecutive win as they move past the conference's top scoring team. Ball State remains the top-ranked MAC school after the victory, moving to 9-2-2 after the 3-0 victory over MAC east front runner, Kent State.  Ball State remained patient in this game, not scoring until the 74th minute, but from there they took off.  Senior Chelsy Swackhamer scored one goal, while freshman Abbie Boswell scored two goals in the match.

Cardinals off to strongest start in 8 years

The Ball State soccer team is having the best season start in eight years. The Cardinals are 4-0 in the Mid-American Conference, marking the third time in team history where they reached this feat, the last two times being in 2006 and 2007.


The Ball State soccer team faced Eastern Michigan on Sept. 25 at the Briner Sports Complex. Ball State won 2-1in the Mid-American Conference opener.

Offense leads Ball State to 4-0 start in MAC

The Ball State soccer team is off to a 4-0 start in Mid-American Conference play, and the Cardinals are doing it with offense. The MAC's last undefeated team swept two matches last weekend and extended its winning streak to five matches. Ball State outshot its opponent in all five of those matches

Leah Mattingly earns MAC Co-Defensive Player of the Week

Junior defender, Leah Mattingly, has been awarded with the Mid-American Conference co-defensive player of the week award.  This is the fourth time a Cardinal has been honored by the MAC for a weekly award. Mattingly assisted the Cardinals defense by limiting opponents to six  shots on goal throughout the week. She has played this entire season on the defensive end and only one team has managed to score more than one goal against the Cardinals this year. Ball State remains the only undefeated team in the MAC at 4-0.

Ball State off to 2-0 start in MAC play

The Ball State soccer team is now 4-0 in its last four Mid-American Conference openers. Ball State won against Eastern Michigan on Sept. 25, and defeated Bowling Green on Sept. 27 for a 2-0 start in MAC play.

Ball State ends non-conference play with Roberts' 50th career victory

The Ball State soccer team ended non-conference play with a win, and head coach Craig Roberts reached a milestone in the process. Ball State traveled to Morehead State on Sept. 20 and took home a 3-1 victory over the Eagles. Roberts became the second Ball State soccer coach to reach 50 career victories, joining Ron Rainey.
