Former Ball State football player sues MAC, NCAA

Former Ball State fullback Geoff Donner filed a class-action lawsuit against the Mid-American Conference and National Collegiate Athletic Association earlier this week. Donner played for the Cardinals from 1993-95 and also alleges that he tried to sit out a practice to recover from a concussion, only to be threatened with having his scholarship pulled if he didn't participate.

Chirp: X-factors against Northern Illinois

The Cardinals are coming off a 31-27 comeback over Florida Atlantic last week, while the Huskies late rally fell short in a 28-23 home loss to Western Illinois. Northern Illinois leads the all-time series 21-20-2, and has defeated Ball State seven straight times dating back to 2009.

Weekend in Review

This weekend, Ball State football won on the road, women's volleyball and soccer each won two games at home, cross country won its lone home meet of the season and field hockey dropped two games on the road. Football With the first part of their season over, there have been a lot more positives than negatives for the Cardinals. Ball State won 31-27 at Florida Atlantic Sept.

Ball State football finishes nonconference play with 3-1 record

With the first part of their season over, there have been a lot more positives than negatives for the Cardinals. Ball State won 31-27 at Florida Atlantic Sept. 24 to finish the nonconference portion of its schedule with a 3-1 record. Three wins already matches last season's total with still two-thirds of the regular season left to play.

Cardinals wait out 4 lightning delays, beat Owls 31-27

Tick. Tick. Tick. If you looked up at the video board at FAU Stadium Saturday, there was a good chance it was counting down from 30:00 after another round of lightning streaked across the sky. It was all but impossible to seize and hold momentum.
