Cardinals host Central Michigan, can guarantee MAC West title with victory

When Ball State (19-10, 10-6 Mid-American Conference) hosts Central Michigan (16-13, 9-7 MAC) March 1, it will be fighting to stay on top of the MAC West Division. A victory would secure the Cardinals' first outright MAC West title since the 2001-02 season, as well as Ball State's first 20-win season since that same season. Ball State has won four out of its last five games, including a record-setting night in its last game against Eastern Michigan. Central Michigan has won two in a row but trails Ball State by one game in the MAC West.

Ball State beats EMU 67-63, clinches bye in MAC Tournament

YPSILANTI, MICHIGAN – Behind 28 points from sophomore forward Moriah Monaco, Ball State women's basketball (19-8, 11-5 Mid-American Conference) spoiled Senior Day for Eastern Michigan (18-9, 9-7 MAC) with a 67-63 victory. Monaco was 8-15 (53.3 percent) from beyond the arc in the game and hit the go-ahead three-point shot with 52 seconds remaining in the game.

Cardinals tied for second in MAC West, trail division leader by one game

Ball State women’s basketball (18-7, 10-4 Mid-American Conference) is now one game back in the Mid-American Conference West standings after beating Western Michigan (15-11, 7-7 MAC), 60-54, in its annual Think Pink game Saturday. The Cardinals fell behind in the first quarter against Western Michigan and didn’t regain the lead until less than two minutes remained in the game.

Baseball opens season with 1-3 record in Arizona

Ball State baseball (1-3) lost its first three games of the season but capped its trip to the Surprise College Baseball Classic in Surprise, Ariz., with a victory against Utah Valley (2-2), 3-1. The Cardinals only totaled four hits in the game but took advantage of six walks.
