Contra fans who own a Wii U now have a reason to celebrate, as Contra Advance: The Alien Wars EX has been added to the Wii U Virtual Console. The game is the Game Boy Advance port of Contra III: The Alien Wars and features new levels and graphics from the original Super Nintendo offering. Some features were cut from the new edition, including the ability to dual-wield and the overhead levels.The original Super Nintendo version of the game is already available for the Virtual Console, but more options for games are never a bad thing. Hidetaka Suehiro, better known as Swery, the developer behind cult classics like Deadly Premonition and D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die, has announced that he is taking a break from game development due to health related issues.He took to his official blog to make the announcement:“Starting today, I will be taking a short break from game development, in order to focus on recovering from reactive hypoglycemia,” Suehiro wrote. However, the developer also offered an optimistic statement, saying that “When I recover from my illness, I'm going to do my best to make games that are better and more awesome than ever before!”Hopefully, Suehiro will be able to make a full recovery soon. Blizzard has announced a brand new adventure for their popular TCG Hearthstone. The new adventure, called League of Explorers, features new cards to collect, bosses to challenge and four new wings to play through.The adventure is centered around the titular League of Explorers, a group of treasure hunters that scour Azeroth for priceless archaeological finds. Players will be hunting down the elusive Staff of Origination, a powerful artifact that has drawn the attention of both heroic and villainous forces.Players will be able to conquer nine new class challenges, which task them with beating an enemy using a pre-built deck. These class challenges offer brand new class cards for each of the game's nine classes.The adventure also brings the Heroic Mode difficulty setting, so that players can test out their best decks and strategies on any of the game's missions.A trailer for the League of Explorers adventure has been released, which can be viewed below.The League of Explorers adventure will be coming to the game this Thursday, November 12. Players will be able to purchase the content with either real money or gold through the in-game shop. Although the game was finally re-released on PC on October 28, players are still experiencing crippling technical issues. As such, Warner Bros. Interactive has announced that it will be offering full refunds of the game for anyone who has purchased it, up until the end of the year. The publisher had this to say regarding the troubled re-launch on a post to the game's Steam community:
We are very sorry that many our customers continue to be unhappy with the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight. We worked hard to get the game to live up to the standard you deserve but understand that many of you are still experiencing issues.Until the end of 2015, we will be offering a full refund on Batman: Arkham Knight PC, regardless of how long you have played the product. You can also return the Season Pass along with the main game (but not separately). For those of you that hold onto the game, we are going to continue to address the issues that we can fix and talk to you about the issues that we cannot fix.
Batman: Arkham Knight originally launched back in June, but the game was made unavailable for purchase shortly after, due to performance issues. EA has announced that the release date for the next entry in the Mirror's Edge franchise has been pushed back a few months. Mirror's Edge Catalyst will be released on May 24 of next year. The publisher stated in a blog post that the team at DICE needed time to make the game “as entertaining, impressive, and memorable as it can be.”The game was originally slated to release February 23, 2016. A financial report has been released by Konami with a number of interesting pieces of information regarding the company's products. The report included information about the company's recent release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. According to the report, Konami has shipped 5 million units of the game, including digital downloads.The report also states that the company has seen positive revenue gains in digital entertainment, as well as Pachinko and Pachislot machines. Larian Studios' Divinity: Original Sin made quite a splash when it was originally released, and now gamers who missed it the first time around have another chance to pick it up. The launch trailer for the Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition has been released by Focus Home Interactive, the game's publisher. The trailer shows off the new console-specific gameplay. There are also flashy bits of CGI for added flair.The Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition features new quests, story content, three difficulty modes and online or split-screen co-op. Marvel Puzzle Quest is being released on consoles today, along with new DLC and a new pricing model. The game was originally free-to-play with microtransactions when it was released on PC, but the game now costs $14.99 to purchase. Players will, however, have access to all of the original game's content.Two new DLC packs have also been released with the game's relaunch. The Science Friction DLC gives players access to Hulk and Punisher, while the Case of the Cold Chimichangas content allows players to play as Doctor Octopus and Deadpool. The DLC features new story lines along with the new characters. Each piece of DLC costs $3.99.Marvel Puzzle Quest is currently available to purchase on the PS4, PS3 and Xbox 360. Details about the brand new companion app for Star Wars Battlefront have been revealed. The companion app will allow players to unlock content to use in both the game and the app. The app will come out for Android and iOS sometime before the game launches on November 17.The app features a tactical card game called "Base Command". Players will be able to collect cards in order to defend their base against Imperial forces. Games take place in wave-based “sieges” where the player and computer take turns trying to attack and defend.Base Command will not feature any type of micro-transactions. Once players earn a card, they will have it forever. The currency you earn in the app can be used in Star Wars Battlefront to acquire weapons, new cards and more.Players will be able to try out the companion app early when Star Wars Battlefront goes into beta during early October. The release date for Telltale's latest episodic adventure game has finally been revealed. Minecraft: Story Mode will be released on Oct. 13, so players won't have to wait long to get their next Telltale fix. The game will be available in digital form for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Mac, PC, Android, and iOS platforms.
Minecraft: Story Mode is also getting a physical release on consoles, as well. The physical version will be available to purchase on Oct. 27. Physical copies of the game will include a season pass disc that will give players access to all of the episodes as they come out.
The game will combine the creative gameplay of Minecraft with Telltale's signature choice-based narrative storytelling. Players will take on the role of Jesse, and players can choose between a male or female protagonist. A trailer from this year's Minecon event showed some of the characters players will meet and also sheds a bit of light on the story of the game.

Sony has revealed the first expansion for the hardcore action RPG
Bloodborne. Titled The Old Hunters, this DLC will feature new enemies, as well as new weapons, magic, and clothing for players to earn. The expansion will allow players to “experience the nightmare of the hunters who once guarded Byrgenwerth's darkest secrets.” Players will be able to discover even more clues about the world of Bloodborne with new NPCs to interact with.
A trailer has also been released to show off the expansion. It features new boss fights and enemies. The trailer demonstrates a few of the new weapons players will be able to wield, such as a bow and arrow and a flaming buzz, saw-like weapon.
