Alexandria Van Paris had made it. After 330 auditions and over a decade of anticipation, she was finally working with theater director and choreographer Susan Stroman. According to many, however, Van Paris’ real accomplishment isn’t getting cast in the “Crazy For You” workshop; it’s the determination, tenacity and heart she’s kept throughout her career.

From July to November of 2016, Ball State alumnus Doug Jones was on location in Toronto, Canada, on the set of his latest film project; pretty normal for a Hollywood actor. Decidedly less normal? Acting in a rubber suit, under dense layers of makeup, to play a romantic lead without speaking a word of dialogue.

Ball State First Lady Jennifer Mearns has always wanted to appear on a cooking show, and on Nov. 28 she will finally make her debut when she appears on “Slice That Price,” making a special batch of her mother’s Thanksgiving stuffing.

Those passing through the one-flashing-light town of Gaston this Saturday are liable to see games of pumpkin ball, rock-paper-scissors tournaments, grilled food, bounce houses, the Hunter Smith Band and even the world's longest field goal kick. Printmakers, book artists and community members will have the chance to mingle and meet this weekend at Interrobang, a two-day event hosted by the Book Arts Collaborative and Tribune Showprint in downtown Muncie. The event includes presentations from visiting professionals, a marketplace and the launch party for the Book Arts Collaborative Press artist's book, “Spaces Between Places.”
