DUNKIRK, Ind. - Steve Schwieterman received a call from his realtor one day, and it marked the beginning of something he never imagined. This call was about a property that was available for a good price, but there was a catch: it was a high school.
“I didn’t know what to do with it, but the price was really good, so I bought it, and was up town one day, and the lady that cut my hair was like, ‘Could we put businesses in it?’ And I was like, ‘Well yeah, that might be a good idea,’” Schwieterman said.
Steve took this idea and ran with it, and it worked out. About two years ago, he purchased the property and started moving tenants in.
The property is in Dunkirk, Indiana, just outside of Muncie. This building is very unique to the area because Dunkirk doesn’t have many shopping areas, especially all in the same building.
“We have a hair salon, a tattoo place, jujitsu training, we have cookies; Coops Cookies are here, we have a vintage toy store, everything room, we have our own restaurant in here, GraNiti Grill, we have our own wedding event center, and a few other things,” Schwieterman said.
To find them go to 234 W Pearl Street, Dunkirk, Indiana, and explore for yourself.
