The 50s brought thick foundation, pastel eyeshadows, and heavily lined eyebrows, lips and eyes. Makeup in the 1950s was as fabulous as the Hollywood stars, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor, who were the faces of beauty for women during this era. Here are some bold looks from the 1950s that are super easy to get.
Eyes were bright, but eyeshadow was light. Most had shimmer and pastel colors ranging from greens, blues, yellows, and pinks. Eyeliner and mascara was a necessity. Eyes were lined with black, liquid liner. A solid black arch was drawn above the upper lash to create more of an “open” look or “cat eye.”

Lips were perfectly lined and then colored in with the same shade of lipstick. Deep reds, red-purples, and red-oranges were shades women of the 50s rocked. Most of the lipsticks were matte or satin finish and were bold colors that stood out, plumping lips to their fullest.

Eyebrows were just as defined as the eyes and lips in the 50s. A shade a tad darker than the natural color clearly defined the arches of the brows, making them completely symmetrical on the face.
