Skoolies Bites and Brews Brings Unique Drinks to Ball State Campus

MUNCIE, Ind. — Skoolies Bites and Brews is on campus and ready to serve the Muncie Community. With one couple's dream, two years later, it has turned into a reality.

“This was actually going to be a coffee shop only and I was like, it can't just be coffee, so we started looking into different things to add to it, which caused me to kind of say, okay, let's bring dirty sodas on,” Moghadam, the owner, stated.

Skoolies Bites and Brews does not serve your typical drink of choice, a dirty soda. Dirty sodas consist of soda, cream, and different flavored syrups.

“So I started looking into ideas and stuff. There's one called the Skoolies Diesel, which is a Red Bull base, and then there's a Dr. Pepper based on what we call the dean's dirty Dr. Pepper. It has over a thousand different combinations,” Moghadam explained.

Two years in the making, starting as just a fun idea to think about, has caught the attention of Ball State students with its caffeinated drinks.

“We did not realize how big it was with the college students I knew when I started doing the espresso and Red Bull, a lot of people were like ‘Wow, what's that?'” Moghadam said.

“I mean, I love it,” said Mackenzie Gordon, a junior at Ball State. “I think because it's mobile and it can go around is a really good idea.”

The bus runs entirely on battery power, with new appliances and advancements still in store; Moghadam plans to expand the business.

“There’s a lot of things we are working on with it, there's a lot of events we just want to make sure it's out there for everybody,” Moghadam stated.
