Women’s wellness and entrepreneurship event unites Muncie community

MUNCIE, Ind. — Outside of First Merchants Bank in downtown Muncie, a women's health and wellness event was hosted on Oct. 2 by the bank's women's connection group, with the intention to bring the community together to support health and wellness not just physically, but mentally and spiritually too.

There were many different women-owned local vendors at this event, including Designs on 28, owned by Alyssa Wagner.

“It is important to me to have my kids included and then just support other women-owned businesses as well,” Wagner said.

Her business is run out of a trailer. That way, in the evenings when her trailer is parked in the backyard, her kids can play outside and she can work on her designs. She works on different clothing items, including baby sizes all the way up to adult sizes. As well as hats and different trinkets, key chains, stickers, etc. To keep up to date on more information and updates on upcoming events, you can follow her Facebook page.

Another local vendor that attended this event was Evermore Jewelry, owned by Kierra Bogue. She has been in business since 2022 as a stay-at-home mom who wanted something of her own. Evermore Jewelry has expanded into attending local events, private parties and appointments out of her home. She has many jewelry options to choose from, including bracelets, rings, anklets and necklaces. Evermore jewelry will be at the downtown nutrition event held at the end of October, there will be a fall festival and trunk or treat. To see more upcoming events, you can follow her Facebook page.

“We want everyone to prosper all around, not just financially but mentally, physically, spiritually and just in the community, so if we can help people in our community be better, then our community will be better,” Tammy Vanooteghem, an organizer of the event, said.

This event was all about getting the community together and involved in wellness and supporting local women entrepreneurs.
