MUNCIE, Ind.- This past weekend on Sunday, Ball State soccer kicked off in a match vs. Miami of Ohio in a game that marked the teams “Halloween Game” in which fans were encouraged to show up and bring their Halloween festivities such as costumes and Halloween spirit all around.
No doubt fans from around Muncie packed the stands deep with Halloween spirit. Senior forward, Delaney Caldwell, describes this saying “It was definitely cool to see, I saw a few costumes out there and it was fun to see.”
During the game however, the Cardinals struck early with a goal in the first half by Delaney Caldwell.
Later in the game, the Miami RedHawks would score two unanswered goals in the second half, in which the cards would be defeated 2-1.
While the team was defeated on Sunday, the team had won 4 straight games prior. Head Coach Andy Stoots echoed this saying, “We were on a heater… If you played sport long enough you know that some games don’t go how you planned but I have confidence in the team for our next game on Wednesday vs. Northern Illinois.”
This game was the team’s last regular-season home game of the year before they go on the road to play Northern Illinois this Wednesday. As the team plays their last game of the season, they are eyeing the long-term big goal in the MAC tournament which starts Nov 1. Delaney Caldwell says, “We’re looking forward to the MAC tournament, and I have confidence in the team for that.”
