Late season heat builds into the region

Tonight: A mostly clear night is ahead, with low temperatures in the upper-50s with little cloud cover.

Tomorrow: Another day of simmering sunshine is ahead, with temperatures warming from the upper-50s near daybreak all the way to the upper-80s, with an east wind aiding in warmer weather. Clouds will begin to build in by late afternoon, but it will not do much to cool us down.

Seven-Day Forecast: "Second Summer" is in full effect this week, as an upper level ridging pattern blocks heat and keeps the work week very dry. Temperatures will be in the upper-80s and may exceed 90 degrees by late in the week, which could be the first 90 degree day we've seen here in Muncie in over a month. This warm and dry pattern will exacerbate drought and fire risks throughout the week, so be sure to remain aware of any outdoor burning or fires. Some small rain chances begin to appear by next weekend, but remain very vague this far out.
