MUNCIE, Ind– Ball State's College of Sciences and Humanities (CSH) hosted its annual Star Party this Tuesday, September 9th. This event brought together students across many different majors and minors. The event showcased several different clubs and organizations to help students find others with similar interests to theirs.
Melissa Stevens explained how this event was not just for CSH students.
Stevens said that Star Party can also “expose people to how they can become a more well-rounded student and professional in the future,” and also give them the ability to branch out in their careers.
Students showed great interest in the event, with 239 students attending from across many different majors. This number is up 44% from last year and is up 150% from 2023. This event was also used to reassure students that their major will be useful to them.
“This is what this class is about, but here are the skills I'm developing along the way, and that's what's gonna help me in the job place,” Stevens reminded students.
Stevens also had advice to share for students who were unsure of their path.
“Just letting students know it's ok not to know, I changed my major four times and I turned out just fine.”
Many of the clubs and organizations present at Star Party can be found online by searching Star Party on the Ball State website.
