Former Ball State Mens Tennis member Gene Orlando set to coach team

Former Ball State Men's Tennis Hall of Famer Gene Orlando has been named the new head coach of the team, according to Ball State Athletics, following the departure of long-time Head Coach Bill Richards, announced last week.

Orlando was the head coach at Michigan state for 31 seasons, the longest-tenured mens tennis coach in the Big Ten Conference, and the winningest coach in the universities history, with 361 wins. After departing the school, he served as an assistant coach to Richards' the past three seasons. 

Orlando helped the Cardinals claim four straight Mid-American Conference (MAC) championships as a player, and posted a four-year MAC league mark of 29-0.
