Men’s basketball vs. Eastern Michigan

MUNCIE, Ind.--- Ball State men’s basketball finds themselves out of the MAC tournament on Saturday, and with only a few games left, every game means just as much to secure a spot in the Mid-American Conference Tournament.

To start off the day, Jalin Anderson was awarded his 1000th career point last week, and it was nothing but nail-biting from there on. The Cardinals lost in a heartbreaker to Eastern Michigan 56-58;

“We have to be mentally tough right here,” said junior forward Mickey Pearson Jr..

Ball State led for a lot of the game but just as Ball State has done a lot this year, it has not been able to close out in crunch time. Coach Lewis took the blame for the loss.

Lewis stated, “It comes down to me and the communication between players and coaches needs to improve."

One bright spot of the game was Basheer, who got to start with his brother Jusuf, and for the first time, both brothers started in the same game together.

“It's a blessing to start out there with Yusuf,” said Basheer.

The brothers split the season series, with the away team winning in both matchups as Basheer won the matchup at Eastern Michigan back on January 16th. The Cardinals are back in Maction on the road in Michigan where the Cardinals are undefeated to face the Chips of Central Michigan.
