Below are highlights and results from the past week’s Delaware County sporting events that those on the Daily News Sports Team were unable to attend. 

Monday (Jan. 29)

No results could be found. 

Tuesday (Jan. 30)

No results could be found. 

Wednesday (Jan. 31)

Wapahani girl’s basketball defeated Monroe Central 37-32. No stats could be found. 

Thursday (Feb. 1)

Yorktown boy’s basketball fell to Pendleton Heights 64-57. Senior Kieran Tewari led the Tigers with 16 points.

Daleville boy’s basketball defeated Randolph Southern 78-40. Senior Meryck Adams led the Broncos with 25 points. 

Wapahani boy’s basketball defeated Cowan 81-72 after three overtimes. Senior Isaac Andrews led the Raiders with 45 points, which broke the school’s scoring record for a single game. 

Burris boy’s basketball defeated Anderson Prep. Academy 51-42. Junior Cole Conatser led the Owls with 25 points. 

Friday (Feb. 2)

Delta girls’ basketball ended their season in the IHSAA Sectional Semifinals as the Eagles fell to Jay County 53-35. No stats could be found. 

Daleville girl’s basketball defeated Cowan 46-35 in the IHSAA Sectional Semifinals. Isabelle Williams led the Broncos with 18 points. 

Wapahani girl’s basketball ended their season as the Raiders fell to Lapel 44-27. No stats could be found. 

Saturday (Feb. 3)

Delta boy’s basketball defeated Mississinewa 55-36. No stats could be found. 

Daleville girl’s basketball defeated Anderson Prep. Academy 39-38 in the IHSAA Sectional Championship. Williams led the Broncos with 13 points. 

Daleville boy’s basketball defeated Seton Catholic 65-62. Senior Koleman Newsome led the Broncos with 38 points. 

Cowan boy’s basketball fell to Eastern Hancock 54-50. Senior Mason Kidd led the Blackhawks with 14 points. 

Wes-Del boy’s basketball fell to Madison-Grant 64-53. Seniors Trey Adams and Corben Price led the Warriors with 14 points each.  

Wapahani boy’s basketball defeated Union 112-18. Sophomore Camden Bell led the Raiders with 31 points. Andrews followed with 30. 

Burris boy’s basketball fell to Cambridge 67-51. Senior Timo Minnich led with 22 points. 

Delta wrestling won the IHSAA Regional Championship at Jay County for the first time in 28 years. Nine wrestlers will move on to the state finals. 

Delta girl’s swim and dive won the IHSAA Sectional Championship. During the event, the Eagles won 11 out of 12 events.
