Delta senior basketball player Jackson Wors was voted the Daily News Athlete of the Week from the week of 12/6-12/13. .

“It's clear that you have people supporting you every night and they and they care about you,” Wors said. “So it means a lot and because they care about you, you want to perform well.”

Wors has started the season strong as he leads the Eagles with 16.5 points per game. During that week, Wors recorded 23 points and two rebounds in a win over Yorktown. He also sank the game winning layup.

“I’m letting the game come to me and not forcing it,” he said. “[I’m] staying patient.”

The Ball State Daily News will use this program to honor athletes who had an impressive week or a breakout performance. A candidate from each school will be chosen and the community can vote for the winner.

Candidates will be announced every Wednesday with the voting closing on the following Saturday at 5 p.m. If you believe a certain student-athlete should be your school’s candidate, email the Daily News high school sports reporter Zach Carter at zachary.carter@bsu.edu
