Recapping the Delaware County election results

With Incumbent Republican Mayor Dan Riendour winning reelection in Muncie, it is probably that he will be working with a Democratic City Council while city clerk went to the Republican Party and city court judge went to the Democratic Party.

Of the more than 47,000 registered voters in Delaware County, less than 10,000 turned out to the polls on voting day (19.56 percent).

The county clerk released the unofficial election summary report, with 46 of the 52 precincts reporting, including that official election results will be finalized in the next two weeks. Here is a break down of the election day results:

City Clerk

  • Belinda M. Munson (R) – 52.04 percent of total votes
  • Norma Norman (D) – 47.96 percent of total votes

City Court Judge

  • No candidate filed from the Republican Party
  • Amanda C. Dunnuck (D) – 100% of total votes

City Council At-Large (three seats)

  • Dale Basham (R) – 17.81 percent of total votes
  • Ro Selvey (R) – 16.97 percent of total votes
  • William (Billy Mac) McInstosh (D) – 15.40 precent of total votes

Holly Juip (D) finished 15.11 percent of total votes and Aaron Clark (R) finished with 14.90 percent of total votes.

City Council District 1

  • Jeff Green (R) – 50.39 percent of total votes
  • Steve Craig (D) – 49.61 percent of total votes

City Council District 2

  • Josh Taulbee (R) – 41.50 percent of total votes
  • Nora Evans Powell (D) – 58.50 percent of total votes

City Council District 3

  • Nicholas (Nick) Taulbee (R) – 46.77 percent of total votes
  • Brandon Garrett (D) – 53.23 percent of total votes

City Council District 4

  • Brad Marshall (R) – 49.90 percent of total votes
  • Sara Gullion (D) – 50.10 percent of total votes

City Council District 5

  • Andrew Popp (R) – 43.15 percent of total votes
  • Jerry D. Dishman (D) – 56.85 percent of total votes

City Council District 6

  • Kyle Temple (R) – 29.84 percent of total votes
  • Harold D. Mason, Jr. (D) – 70.16 percent of total votes
