Women take second while men take third at the Dan Ross Indiana Intercollegiate

Ball State women’s swim and dive started their season with a second-place finish at the Dan Ross Indiana Intercollegiate, with the men’s team taking third in the meet. 

In their second-place performance, Ball State scored 393 points over 12 events, winning three individual races.

Sophomore Payton Kelly led the Cardinals with wins in the 50 freestyle and the 100 freestyle. 

Senior Laura Wright earned her first win of her season in the 100 breaststroke. 

On the men's side, the Cardinals scored 481 points, behind Purdue and IUPUI. 

Fifth-year Owen Chaye recorded two wins in the 50 freestyle and the 100 freestyle. 

Senior Joey Garberick recorded two second-places in the 100 IM and 100 breaststroke.

The women will take on Buffalo Oct. 28 starting at 11 a.m. 

The men will be at home Nov. 3 at 5 p.m. for senior night against IUPUI.
