Anand R. Marri will serve as Ball State University's next provost and executive vice president for academic affairs, according to an email to students from University President Geoffrey Mearns Oct. 31.

Marri served as dean of Teachers College since his arrival in July 2020 and served as interim provost since Susana Rivera-Mills' departure for Aurora University in March.

" During his service as the dean of Teachers College, enrollment in the college increased, and TC faculty and staff generated an increase in external funding to support their research," said Mearns via email. Dr.Marri also personally secured the largest philanthropic gift in the history of the college."

Before Ball State, Marri spent time as a tenured professor at Columbia University's Teach College and as vice president of outreach and education at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
