For the second time in the past week, No. 11 Ball State Men’s Volleyball dropped a Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) match, this time on the road to No.13 Loyola Chicago in four sets (25-23, 21-25, 21-25, 22-25).
Thursday started out well enough for the Cardinals (6-5, 1-2), with a win in set one behind eight kills from fifth-year outside attacker Kaleb Jenness. Jenness had a game-high 21 kills with second-year outside hitter Tinaishe Ndavazocheva tallying 15 kills.
In set two, the Ramblers (10-2, 3-0) took control and never looked back. Ball State had their lowest hitting percentage of the match in set two (0.2).
Loyola Chicago played a cleaner match than the Cardinals, pressuring Ball State into 25 errors, while the Ramblers only committed 14 errors.
The Cardinals struggled to regain momentum on offense after being shut down on the net by Loyola Chicago’s 24 block assists.
Ball State looks to rebound on the road Saturday at 7.pm. against Purdue Fort Wayne in a rematch of last year’s MIVA championship

Delta will be on the road for its next contest against Hoosier Heritage Conference rival Shelbyville April 23 at 6 p.m. Muncie Central will travel to Muncie Burris for its next matchup, also April 23 at 6 p.m.
