Safe Zone and Trans* Safe Zone Trainings announced for Fall 2022 Semester

Ball State's Student Government Association (SGA) passed a resolution requesting a LGBTQ liaison for students. If passed through university governance, the liaison would 

Safe Zone and Trans* Safe Zone Trainings, presented by the Ball State University Counseling Center, are back for the 2022-2023 Academic Year. Virtual trainings are still set to be offered, as well as in-person trainings at Ball State's Multicultural Center.
Dates and times for the Fall 2022 Semester have been announced, as shown below:

2022 Fall Semester Dates, Times and Locations

Safe Zone Trainings: 
- August 29, 8 a.m.-Noon, Multicultural Center
- September 24, 8 a.m.-Noon, Virtual
- October 21, Noon-4 p.m., Multicultural center
- November 17, 5:30-9:30 p.m., Virtual

Trans* Safe Zone Trainings: 
- September 7, 3-7:00 p.m., Multicultural Center
- October 3, 8 a.m.-Noon, Multicultural Center
- November 3, 5:30-9:30 p.m., Virtual
- December 3, 8 a.m.-Noon, Virtual

If interested in becoming an ally/advocate for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning population at Ball State University and beyond, attend these Safe Zone and Trans* Safe Zone Trainings, which are four hours each. Trainings are open to Ball State students, faculty, staff and, if the space allows, to interested members of the wider community.

Upon completion of the training, participants are set to receive a Safe Zone or Trans Safe Zone sticker, as well as other materials and invitations to workshops and conferences.
