Near record temperatures possible this weekend, with the potential for storms Sunday

Today has been a mostly cloudy, yet warm day. We currently have winds out of the south, which is actually being caused by a warm front pushing north and east. This warm front will push through the area throughout tomorrow, which is why we will potentially see record highs in Muncie. Sunday brings the chance for thunderstorms, some could be strong, but confidence remains low on the strength of these storms at this time.

Tonight: The low for tonight will be around 58 degrees, a great night. The night will start off as partly cloudy, progressing to mostly clear throughout the overnight hours and into early Saturday morning. Winds will remain form the south at about 5-10 mph.

Tomorrow: Great golfing weather is likely tomorrow. Expect the temperatures to rise throughout the day, and expect the same for the winds out of the southwest. Skies will remain mostly clear throughout the day, so it may feel warmer than the actual temperature due to the sunrays. The high tomorrow could reach 84 degrees, which would tie the record high for April 23rd, which was 84 degrees in 1985.

7-Day: The 7-Day forecast shows a fairly active pattern to begin, and then quieting down on Tuesday and beyond. Sunday cold bring a chance for showers and thunderstorms. As mentioned before, these storms could be strong to severe, but the confidence has remained fairly low in terms of strength and timing. Monday brings more chances for showers and thunderstorms, before cooling down as a cold front moves through the area. Highs in the 50s will be likely from Tuesday to Thursday, before returning to the upper 60s on Friday.
