The 2022 season was one for the history books for Ball State men's volleyball (20-3, 12-2 MIVA). Following a first outright Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association regular season championship since 1997, five members of the program have been awarded MIVA honors.

Head coach Donan Cruz was named Coach of the Year after leading the Cardinals to a No. 7 national ranking and their first 20 win season since 2016. Senior outside attacker Kaleb Jenness, who was an All-MIVA favorite in preseason, was named MIVA player of the year and All-MIVA first team after averaging 4.69 kills per set with a .368 hitting percentage and 19 double-digit kill performances this season.

Graduate student setter Quinn Isaacson and graduate student opposite hitter Angelos Mandilaris were also named to the All-MIVA first team. Isaacson leads the MIVA and the nation with 11.48 assists per set while racking up a personal-record 907 assists this season – he currently ranks seventh in for all-time career assists with 3,055. Mandilaris ranks second for Ball State in kills (259), service aces (11) and block assists (32).

Being named to the All-MIVA second team, senior middle blocker Felix Egharevba was at the tape all season for Ball State with 60 total blocks and averaging a nation-leading 1.347 blocks per set. Egharevba recorded two double-digit blocking performances this season against McKendree Feb. 12 and NJIT March 11.

The Cardinals hold the No. 1 seed in the MIVA tournament and home-court advantage throughout. Ball State will play No. 8 seed Quincy (4-18, 0-14 MIVA) April 16 at 6 p.m.
