Freeman announces she will enter the transfer portal

After three seasons with Ball State Women’s Basketball, junior Sydney Freeman announced she is entering the transfer portal in a Twitter post.

“Thank you to Coach [Brady] Sallee and his coaching staff & also [former] Coach [Ryan] Patterson,” Freeman said in the post.“Thank you to the Muncie community and all of my teammates over the past three years who have made my experience at Ball State memorable.” 

Freeman started 31 games for the Cardinals in the 2021-22 regular season and averaged 11.1 points and four assists per game. Freeman was selected to the 2020 All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) Freshman Team and earned All-MAC Honorable Mention in 2020-21.

The Cardinals advanced to the Mid-American Conference (MAC) championship where they fell 79-75 to Buffalo March. After earning a bid to the Women's National Invitational Tournament (WNIT), Ball State lost against Marquette 93-70 March 16.

“I’ll forever be a Cardinal, but I’m excited to see what the future holds,” Freeman said.
